What this site stores on your device

A few small values, in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device and are not sent to us or to anyone else:

• Your chosen city (muhurat-city and its name), so that the site’s links take you to your own city’s timings rather than a generic page. It is saved when you pick a city or visit a city page, and cleared if that city’s page stops existing.
• Your last few cities (muhurat-recent-cities), up to four names, shown at the top of the city search so you can go back to one with a single tap.
• Your preferred language (muhurat-lang), saved when you choose a language or dismiss the language prompt, so the site remembers your choice.

You can clear them at any time by clearing site data for choghadiyanow.com in your browser. The site works the same without them; it just forgets your city.

What this site does not do

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to keep.
• Nothing you type is sent. City search runs in your browser. Thetools (rashi, gun milan, Mangal dosha, naam se rashi) calculate in your browser too: names, dates and times of birth stay on your device and are gone when you close the page. To find a birth place’s latitude, longitude and time zone, your browser asks our server for the town you picked, by its name and nothing else.
• No cookies that follow you across sites. The site’s own code sets no cookies and does not fingerprint or profile you. The one exception is Google Analytics, described below. Fonts are served from this site, not from a third party.
• No location tracking. The site never asks for your location. The city you see is the one you chose, or the default.

Videos

A recitation page, such as Devi Kavach, can show a YouTube video. Until you press play, the only thing loaded from YouTube is the video’s preview image, from YouTube’s image server (i.ytimg.com), which receives your IP address like any server does. Pressing play loads YouTube’s player fromyoutube-nocookie.com, its privacy-enhanced mode, and from then onGoogle’s privacy policy applies to the video.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives your IP address, browser type and the address of the page you requested in order to serve it, and keeps short-lived request logs for security and reliability. Cloudflare’s handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy. We do not use those logs to identify you.

Visit counting (Google Analytics)

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits: which pages are read, from which country and kind of device, and how people arrived (a search, a link, a shared message). It tells us which cities and timings people need, so we know what to check and build next.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies on this site (named _ga) to tell a returning visitor from a new one. It does not give us your name, email or exact location, and we do not try to identify anyone from it.

• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off unless you give consent.
• You can block Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

Choghadiya Now is supported by advertising and is built to show ads through Google AdSense. When ads are shown on a page:

• Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure them.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and out of many third-party vendors’ cookies at aboutads.info.
• If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set, and can change your choice at any time from the link at the foot of every page.
• How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Advertising never changes a time or a reading on this site.

Links to other sites

Pages here link to reference panchangs and to other sites for background. Those sites have their own policies; this one stops at the link.

Children

The site is a general-audience reference. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age; the visit counts from Google Analytics are not tied to a person.

Changes to this policy

If the site starts doing something new with data, this page will say so before it happens, and the date at the top will change.
